Amy Methvin, PA-C is excited to partner in opening FirstCare Dermatology of Lawrenceburg in 2016.
Amy is a 2005 graduate of the University of Alabama at Birmingham in Physician Assistant Studies and brings over 12 years of clinical experience to First Care. Her first 4 years of experience were in multi-specialty surgical care. The past 8 years, Amy has worked in surgical and general dermatology. Amy began specializing in dermatology outside San Francisco at East Bay Skin Cancer Center where she focused on Mohs surgery and post- Mohs surgical repair.
Prevention and early diagnosis of skin cancer is her primary focus, but she is experienced and proficient in a wide range of dermatology procedures, techniques, and diagnoses. Amy is a member of the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants and the American Academy of Physician Assistants.
Amy also offers anti-aging treatments including Botox, Juvederm, chemical peels, and facial regimens. A natural look is always the goal to enhance your natural beauty and never leave you looking “fake” or like you “have had something done.”
Amy is a resident of Lawrence County and is thankful for the opportunity to live and work in Lawrenceburg and care for her local community.
When not in the office, Amy enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, and cooking.

Dr. Adam S. Plotkin is a a board-certified dermatologist. A native of Poughkeepsie, NY, he earned his medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine in Philadelphia. Dr. Plotkin completed post-graduate training in internal medicine at Brown University Rhode Island Hospital in Providence and dermatology training at Wright State University in Dayton, OH.
Dr. Plotkin is a diplomate of the American Board of Dermatology, fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology, and fellow of the American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery. He is a member of and past president of the Palm Beach County Society for Dermatology and Cutaneous Surgery. His research is published in numerous peer-reviewed medical journals, and he is a featured expert speaker on radio and television.
Dr. Plotkin belongs to several honor societies and is a member of the American Medical Association, American Academy of Dermatology, American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery, American Board of Dermatology, Florida Dermatology Society, Florida Medical Association, and Palm Beach County Society for Dermatology and Cutaneous Surgery.
